About

My name is Dan Harrison and I am an RRCA Level 1 certified running coach based just outside of Detroit. I enjoy racing distances from 10ks to ultramarathons but really love the process of training that running offers. Just like many others out there, I’m familiar with the challenge of balancing work, family, kids and life stress with the demands of running.

Philosphy

I work with athletes to maintain a long-term, sustainable approach to training. This includes:

  • Avoiding over-training. When in doubt, reduce workload. Always.

  • Taking a full rest day at least once a week. No run streaks here, folks!

  • Fueling well before, during and after runs.

  • Consistency is the main driver of results. To get better, we have to put in effort over long periods of time. This means having a plan that will keep us healthy and able to run.

  • Each athlete is unique and requires a bespoke and holistic approach to training. The more I know about you, the more I can tailor your training plan. Do you have specific goals? What does your current training consist of? Do you have a history of injuries? What do you do when you aren’t running? How much sleep do you get every night? What running shoes do you wear?

  • Each week I’ll analyze your training and provide a custom, detailed training plan. This allows for flexibility to change training as things come up while keeping your main goals in focus.

  • I will help you work through travel plans, schedules and race strategy. Afterwards, we’ll discuss what went well and what can be improved.

  • I’ve been fortunate to work with some excellent professionals in the running community. From physical therapists, nutritionists, recovery coaches, shoe experts and other run coaches, I work with experts to provide athletes a holistic and training experience.

Pricing

Initial Consultation: $100

Monthly Coaching: $75.
